I would like to ask if would be possible to split up map of India. It is really big right now – last edition has 2766 MB.

I can imagine splitting it up into two parts (north and south) somewhere north of the city of Mumbai, or even into three parts as seen on Nelles Maps.

Hi,

I tried to splitt the india map in North/East at Mumbai.
Well, the North is 2,2Gb and the South 0,7GB.

So IMO this makes no real sense.
The problem ist that most of the data resides in the mountain region of Himalaya with its contourlines.

The new maps are based on OSM Planet from end of June doe to vandalism in OSM
